which comes from the Russian word for "desert," gives one a chance to
fast, rest, and pray on one's own in a simple, quiet way. Give
yourself a day of rest and devote yourself to silence and prayer.
Spiritual direction and the Sacrament of Reconciliation are
available.

24-hour
Retreat: presented by Fr. Jack Dister, S.J.,
$80, includes room and board
This overnight retreat will focus on the theme
"Encountering Christ Today," and will introduce prayer with Scripture in
the Ignatian tradition. There
will be time for presentations, personal prayer, small group sharing of what
happened during prayer, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation or individual
direction.

Praying
With Ignatius of Loyola:

8 week retreat following the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, $60
This unique retreat introduces participants to the
Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola during 8 weekly 90-minute sessions.
Through prayer with Scripture, journaling, and meditation, the
retreatant builds stronger prayer habits, learns
to examine his or her life, and finds consolation in a closer relationship to Jesus Christ.

Emmaus
Retreat: Retreat for Gay & Lesbian Catholics presented by Sr. Marian Durkin,
CSA, $150, includes room and board
This
weekend retreat will provide a spiritual growth opportunity for gay and
lesbian Catholics and their parents. This year marks the 10th anniversary of this
retreat, and the retreat program has been honed into an effective means for
