Forgiveness: the heart of the Gospel.
Jesus, as Savior, gave his life for the forgiveness of sin for
all time. He asks that we be willing to give pardon to those
who sin against us. Why is this so hard for us, and what is
the difference between forgiving and forgetting?
Retreat begins with coffee/pastry at 9AM.
Program begins at 9:30 and ends before 2PM.The day will include Mass and a healing of memories

Scripture Study Series: Praying with the Gospel of Mark Beginning in February! Day

The Gospel of Mark is generally regarded as the earliest
gospel and is sometimes called the Gospel of the Suffering.Using Fr. Daniel Harrington’s writings on this gospel,
we willdiscuss
many concepts, particularly the place of suffering and
spiritualityWe
will learn how to use the gospel for prayer.
JRH will offer this compelling study as a
three part series.

Jesuit Retreat House provide sacred space to gather for a
home-cooked meal and prayer. Spiritual and intellectual nourishment is
fostered by presenters who inspire, challenge, and delight. Luncheons
begin with prayer at 11:30am and conclude by 1:30PM. Cost is $25 per

Fr. Donald Cozzens is Writer in Residence and Adjunct Professor
of Theology at John Carroll University in Ohio. A priest of the
Diocese of Cleveland, Cozzens has served as spiritual director,
counselor, and retreat master for monks, nuns, priests, andbishops.As vicar for clergy and as president-rector of
Cleveland’s Saint Mary Seminary led to his best-selling and
award winning book, The Changing Face of the Priesthood
(Liturgical Press, 2000).His latest books are Faith That Dares to Speak
(Liturgical Press, 2004) and the award-winning Freeing Celibacy
(Liturgical Press, 2006)

Rahner SJ declares that “each of us is an event of the free,
absolute, and radical self-communication of God.” We are all
created “happenings of God.” This retreat will focus on this
truth through the teachings of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount.
About the Retreat Facilitator
Sr. Mary Ann Wiesemann-Mills is a member of the Dominican
Sisters ofPeace.
She received training as a retreat/spiritual director at the
Jesuit Renewal Center in Milford, OH and continues to serve as
both a spiritual director and retreat preacher as time allows.

Each May the Jesuit Retreat House hosts a benefit dinner
celebrating the ministry of Ignatian Spirituality as it
resides in the Cleveland community. Since 1893,
the Jesuit Retreat House has been an anchor for those
who desire a deeper relationship with God through
experiencing the Exercises of St Ignatius.
Hearts on Fire benefit dinner provides necessary
resources for the house to continue her vital
ministries.
This year at Hearts on
Fire, the Jesuit Retreat House will honor four dynamic
leaders who bring Ignatian Spirituality to the hearts
and minds of young people. We invite you to join
us for an evening of delicious food, cocktails, and
delightful people, as we honor Fr. James Riley, SJ,
Paula Fitzgerald, Jodie Bowers, and Augie Pacetti for
their outstanding work with young people.

Living Prayer: My Life in God 6-week retreat for Lent
Praying with St. Ignatius
is an adaptation of the Spiritual Exercises that is
conducted over the course of 8 weeks. The retreat presents
the graces from all four Weeks of the Spiritual Exercises
and leads retreatants to experience God’s merciful love,
grow in a heartfelt knowledge of Jesus, and enter into his
passion, death and resurrection.
