Stations of the Cross - Seventh Station

Jesus falls for a second time

We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you
Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.

Scripture

“Like a sapling he grew up in front of us, like a root in arid ground. Without beauty, without majesty, no looks to attract his eyes; a thing despised and rejected by all, a man of sorrows and familiar with suffering, one to make people screen their faces; He was despised and we took no account of him…harshly treated with, he bore it humbly; he never opened his mouth, like a lamb that is led to the slaughter.”

A Prayer

“Give me your courage, Lord.
When failure presses heavily on me
and I am desolate,
stretch out your hand
to lift me up.
I know I must not cease,
but persevere
in doing good.
But help me, Lord.
Alone there is nothing I can do.
With you, I can do anything you ask.”
