Presented by Sharon Seyfarth Garner & Karen Bland Peterson
Take a break from the hustle and bustle and join us for this day of prayerful preparation for the season of Advent. In the morning, create your own personalized Advent wreath to take home with you for use in your individual or family devotions. In the afternoon, explore creative Advent practices based on the book, Mandalas, Candles & Prayer: A Simply Centered Advent by Sharon Seyfarth Garner. Let go of the stress of the season and embrace how coloring mandalas, lighting candles, and contemplative prayer can keep us centered in the light of Christmas this Advent season. Coffee & pastry, and lunch are included.
Sharon Seyfarth Garner is an ordained United Methodist Pastor (1997), a certified Spiritual Director (Ignatian Spirituality Institute), and author of Praying with Mandalas: Contemplative Coloring for Contemporary Christians.
Karen Bland Peterson is a Veriditas-trained labyrinth facilitator and leader of women's retreats that focus on the intersection of nature, spirituality, and creativity. She also is a consultant providing Interim Director leadership to non-profit organizations.
Advent is a season of preparations. We re-arrange our homes and our hearts to welcome Jesus. How do the Scriptures of this holy season also invite us to make room for one another, especially the most vulnerable among us? Discover and explore how the commitment to justice animates and enriches Advent and allows us to stay rooted in Christ.
