Ignatius Loyola the Mystic: A Book Reflection Group
Facilitated by Martha Campbell for Spiritual Directors, Retreat Leaders, Pastoral Ministers and Those Who Have Made the Full Spiritual Exercises.
Winter/Spring Gatherings will be based on Ignatius Loyola the Mystic by Harvey D. Egan,SJ.
Come, join the gathered community for prayerful reflection on the research and insights of Harvey D. Egan, SJ, Professor Emeritus in Systematic and Mystical Theology, Boston College. After reflecting on the life of Ignatius through the lens of his spiritual development, we will explore Ignatius’s Trinitarian and ChristCentered Mysticism. We will then see how Ignatius’s Mysticism of Service, Reverential Love and the Cross and his Ecclesial Mysticism of Discernment informed his life in Christ. Through our shared reflection, we will arrive at “a genuine portrait of Ignatius Loyola.” To facilitate the process, chapter assignments will be communicated and should be read in advance.
