Retreats at the JRH
In
addition to the regularly scheduled retreats listed below,
the Jesuit Retreat House also offers a wide variety of unique retreat topics
and guest presenters throughout year. Please view

Weekend
Retreats For Men And Women
This Friday evening to late Sunday morning time frame fits everybody's busy schedule.
It gives you enough time to get away and spend a quiet, restful time with
God. Six conferences anchor your prayer and meditation with God. Liturgy is
celebrated and there is ample opportunity for a personal conference with your
retreat director and private celebration of Reconciliation. Weekend retreats
feature a variety of presenters and topics. Each weekend retreat begins
with dinner on Friday at 6:30 P.M. and ends at 11:00 A.M. on Sunday. The cost
is $145 for the weekend, which includes a private, single room, 5 delicious meals and director's
stipend.

Day or
Evening Retreats
If only for a short while, take time out for yourself to pause, listen, and
reflect on the Word of the Lord in the peaceful surroundings of JRH. Day
retreats begin at 9:00am and end at 3:00pm. The cost is $22
and includes lunch. Evening retreats begin at 7:00pm and end at
9:00pm. The cost is $15 and includes coffee, snacks and presenter's
stipend.

Individually
Directed Retreats
This exploration of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola will
move you closer to God through the gift of prayer. For those of you looking
for the next phase in your spiritual life, an individually directed retreat
by one of the Jesuit or women directors is perfect. Through daily meetings
with the director the retreatant is guided in: becoming aware of the reality
of God's presence and activity; coming to trust this awareness; responding to
this presence and activity.
30 Day
Directed Retreats
JRH welcomes individuals and groups that are interested in making the
complete 30-day retreat outlined in the Spiritual Exercise of St. Ignatius of
Loyola. One 30 day retreat period is scheduled each year during the
summer. Other times may be possible. Call (440-884-9300) or email

a spiritual director and stipend, a private, single room and all meals.
AA
Recovery Retreat
A Recovery Retreat at JRH provides an opportunity for you to discover Gods
plan for you. It can be a time of creation. The time you spend in quiet on
retreat helps create a serene place in yourself. The weekend will help
nurture your serenity and work the Steps of your recovery. The weekends
begin with dinner on Friday at 6:30 P.M. and end at 11:00 A.M. on Sunday. Let

Pre-Cana
Program
The festivity and emotion of your wedding day is a wonderful time in your
life that you will never forget. But maintaining a sacramental union is hard
work and must be your first priority for the rest of your life. Please join
us for one of these Sunday Pre-Cana days for couples anticipating the
Sacrament of Marriage. The day will include prayer, presentations, couple
sharing (most important part of the day), Liturgy and dinner. Some of the
topics covered: Communication; Sexuality; Everyday Living; the Sacrament of
Marriage. This program satisfies the requirements for marriage preparation as
stipulated by the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. You will receive a
certificate at the end of the day. The day begins at 12:45 P.M. and ends at
9:00 P.M. Dress is casual. The cost for the day, including dinner and
presenters' stipend, is $70 per couple.

Pre-Baptism
Classes
Required diocesan baptism instructions are now available to new parents of
local parishes at the Jesuit Retreat House. These one evening retreats go
from 7 PM to 8:15PM. The cost is $20, which includes full certification of
attendance, coffee, pastry and presenter's stipend.

Praying with
St. Ignatius:
an 8-week program at the parish
The Jesuit Retreat House offers to a parish an 8-week program of prayer for anyone seeking to deepen and strengthen ones spiritual life. This program is based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. It is a condensation of the original 30-day retreat created by St. Ignatius. It captures some of the main points of the extended 30-day retreat.
It is scripture based and provides an outline for spiritual growth and more importantly it allows the Holy Spirit to touch the heart of a prayerful person in a personal way. Each weekly session begins with prayer [liturgy], followed by an instruction by the Director of about 15-20 minutes on some aspect of Ignatian spirituality. This is followed by 45 minutes of small group faith sharing. Each week handouts containing the prayer materials are given. The total time of each session is an hour and a half. This program is conducted by the Director of the Jesuit Retreat House and trained lay persons who have gone through this program and others on Ignatian Spirituality. The cost of the
8-week program is $50 per person, payable at registration. There is a limit to the number of participants. You can register online or via the form that appears in the Church bulletin.

Prayers
by St. Ignatius and other Jesuits
Like
many others, St. Ignatius and Jesuits to the present day have prayed the
scriptures, and some have composed prayers that arose in their hearts during
their own prayer periods. We offer a sampling taken from various sources with
the hope that these prayers may be an inspiration for your spiritual life.
Prayers are listed by title and author. Perhaps you
may want to compose your own prayer after you have prayed the scriptures or
made a retreat with the Spiritual Exercises of St.
Ignatius.
