Calix AA Men’s Retreat

The theme for this retreat is “A people who lived in darkness have seen a great light.” The particular application of this Christmas theme will be the  Spiritual Awakening of Step 12, granting Vision and a New Life where there was only darkness and despair of alcoholism. Psalm 23, describing a journey through a dark and fearsome valley with the Lord beside us, will play a special role in the retreat. Facilitated by Francis X. Cook. He considers his membership in Alcoholics Anonymous to be his greatest asset in fulfilling God’s call to him, which has encompassed his calling to be a Catholic priest, an inner city pastor, a husband and father, an attorney, prosecutor, counselor and educator. Frank finds his greatest fulfillment in living and sharing the twelve steps of AA and in keeping in close contact with sponsees and others in the AA Fellowship.

The Jesuit Retreat House is a tranquil, 55-bedroom oasis on 57-acres of forest, meadow and prayer pathways. Weekend retreats begin Friday at 6:00 p.m. and conclude Sunday before 11:00 a.m. The weekend includes spiritual presentations, small group reflection and time for personal prayer.
