Ever wonder why we pray certain prayers beginning with the letter, “O”? Are you hungry to enter more deeply into the prayers of Advent? Do you simply need a break from the holiday noise?
The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is a perfect day to gather at JRH to reflect on the joys and promises of our Church’s Advent song with our executive director, Sr. Mary Ann Flannery, SC. Journey toward Christmas hungering for justice and filled with Christian hope. This retreat will explain why we concentrate on the Book of Isaiah during Advent and how it leads to special “O’Antiphons” prayed the week of Christmas.
Make this day of retreat to enjoy a spiritual Christmas and put shopping and preparations into a proper framework of peace! Day includes lunch and Mass.

Sr. Mary Ann Flannery, SC – Executive Director
Sr. Mary Ann Flannery, SC currently serves as the executive director of Jesuit Retreat House. She is a longtime educator in the diocese, having taught at St. Pius X School, Lumen Cordium High School, Notre Dame College of Ohio, and most recently completed 20 years at John Carroll University, where she taught journalism and served as chair of the communications department. Sr. Flannery has a Ph.D in rhetoric and communications and has served in leadership for her congregation. She gives retreats at Jesuit Retreat House to numerous groups.
